Services include a range of supports designed to help individuals reach of level of stability during program participation and beyond. Experienced staff serve as informal counselors, program advisors and crisis prevention advocates in support of client success. BI staff connects clients to housing or rental assistance, clothing, food banks, mental health/substance abuse programs, medical assistance, transportation assistance, child care, and other training and work experiences determined through eligibility.
Client Employability Assessments
All clients undergo a battery of assessments to determine basic human needs and levels of proficiency to meet employability standards. The outcome of the assessments then becomes the road map for the individual’s service delivery plan.
Job and Career Coaching
BI’s job placement staff provides career and job coaching to clients enrolled in its programs. The goal of coaching is to help guide clients toward a career that has the potential for long-term success, family-sustaining wages, and advancement.
Job Placement Services
BI’s job placement services entail a variety of activities designed to fully prepare individuals for not only employer interviews but long-term sustainability and movement towards a career goal. From week one clients are assigned a team of staff that works to identify the best job/skill match and then designs an employment plan to help reach the goal. Once placed in a job, strategies such as job coaching ad retention services play a key role in maintaining the employment relationship.
BI’s case managers are experienced with one-on-one counseling and the identification of local supports that help clients maintain a level of stability while on the road to self-sufficiency. The goal of retention is to remain connected to clients during periods of uncertainty that can occur after program completion. Clients are monitored frequently and as necessary connected to resources and local partners that provide housing assistance, food security, clothing, mental health, and substance abuse programs, and other resources to meet basic needs.
